My name is Mohamed , and I am reaching out to seek legal advice regarding my intention to apply for asylum in Germany.
I am an Egyptian citizen who has been an atheist for the past two years. As you might know, atheism in Egypt is highly stigmatized, and individuals who openly express their atheism often face persecution, social exclusion, and, in some cases, legal repercussions. I have not publicly declared my atheism in Egypt for fear of such consequences.
I am planning to travel to Hong Kong with a layover in Frankfurt. My intention is to apply for asylum at the Frankfurt airport. Upon departure from Cairo, I plan to publicly declare my atheism via a social media post to substantiate my case and highlight the risk of persecution I face if I return to Egypt.
I am writing to you to better understand whether my case would qualify under German asylum laws and whether it would meet the criteria for protection, including refugee status or subsidiary protection or a deportation ban. I can provide evidence of my atheism, including documentation of my private beliefs and references to the persecution faced by other atheists in Egypt.
I would appreciate it if you could review my case and provide guidance on the likelihood of a successful application. Additionally, I would like to know how to best prepare for the application process and whether there are any risks I should be aware of.
