Here you can ask, answer and find questions surrounding the topic: arriving in Germany
Greetings, I am from Pakistan but I currently reside in Sweden on a Student Visa, studying at bachelor level. I have a two-year Schengen visa till june 2023. However, I wish to pursue Ausbildung (Vocational Training) in Germany. Would it be possible for me to apply for a German visa from Sweden. Secondly, I do not know German language, can I still get German visa if I want to attend school there to learn German language first before Ausbildung or want to seek Ausbildung? Thank you in advance!

Dear Atif Mehmood,

Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us.

If you are holding a temporary residence permit in Sweden and want to make vocational training ("Ausbildung") in Germany, you need to apply for a respective visa at the German embassy in Sweden, for instance. As you already mentioned, the "Ausbildung" usually requires a certain level of German language skills (minimum B1) and without speaking German, it will be unlikely to get an offer. If you want to come to Germany to study the language, you may apply for a visa for language acquisition. Unfortunately, the requirements are quite high though. Please see i.e. the "Make it in Germany" website for further information on these.

I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best,

Meike

Thank you for your prompt response! If i get an offer for a job or an Ausbildung contract, will I be able to stay there after completing my language course? Simply put, can I change my status of my visa during this period?
