Good day to wefugee members here. Please I wish to know if any of you have idea of what it's meant when court hearing is cancel in Asylum process.

My wife was granted 1 year permit in the year 2018 and her lawyer denied it, saying she suppose have getting three years permit but not 1 year so the lawyer took the case to court in 2018 and since 2018 up today nothing has come out from the court.  We decided to change the lawyer last year and the new lawyer sent me an email saying it's like the court hearing is cancelled which I don't understand. Please I wish to know if anyone has an idea of what can make court hear cancel . Thank you.

Dear @Denny28,

Welcome back to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us again.

I am sorry to hear this - but I think it is hardly possible to tell "from distance" why it was cancelled (or postponed). Please ask your lawyer about it - it is on her/him to explain you what is happening and what the next steps are. Your lawyer is the one who received this message from the court and who is the only one with reliable information. Maybe the court will decide without a hearing? #

In any case, please don't hesitate to keep us updated and to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best,
