I have a student residence permit and have lived in Germany for 16 months. On March 2023, I will give birth in Germany. The baby's father has lived in Germany for over five years and working. He is now qualified to apply for unlimited resident permit, but he doesn't have a B1 German language. He is still using Paragraph 25, subsection 5.

I want to apply for a family reunion because of my child after I have the birth certificate. I have the child custody and the vaterschalf documents with me.

Also, I have completed all my exams but remain with my MBA thesis because I am on maternity leave from the University.

I want to apply for paragraph 36, subsection 2, resident permit, because my child will have paragraph 33 resident permit.

Thanks

Dear @Kind1439a,

Do you have a particular question about your situation? You can apply for paragraph 36, subsection 2. Note that you and the father will have to show that you have sufficient income to cover you own needs and those of your child. The future Kindergeld you will receive can go towards this, also benefits such as Elterngeld and Kinderzuschlag.
