I also have video proof that the two people involved in scamming me also are receiving money from the state for more then 10years in handicap subsides and its a complete lie.. Dear Desper, we are very sorry to hear about your case, it sounds really terrible. I will link our Expert:innen here, but I think unfortunately that your question must be directed rather to a lawyer! @mbeon-Éanna , @meike @mbeon-Gabriele We can help you find a lawyer, in which state are you located? Best regards Saskia

Hey Desper,

may I ask you what language do you speak besides English?

Saskia

Hello,

I have found a law firm that specializes in both migration law and criminal law (Strafrecht) and speaks Portuguese. The best thing is to call, explain your case and ask for an initial consultation (Erstberatung) if you are interested. An initial consultation (Erstberatung) costs money. I can't tell you how much the law firm wants, it's best to ask the law firm itself.

Hi @Desper,

There are different issues you have raised here. It is not clear to me what happened at the bank. From what you wrote, it seems you were both present at the bank and the bank gave this other person a loan in your name? I do not understand fully.

Regarding the other money you gave to your family member as a personal loan, there are various steps you can take. It is important to retain all proof you have of any money transfers and any written agreement you may have made about the loan.

You can write him a letter first simply requesting he repay the money. If there is no reaction on his part, you can send a formal demand letter (in German ‘Mahnung’). After this or alternatively, you can go to court to seek to get the money back. For this it is recommend to get legal advice.

Here is an article (originally in German, translated online to Portuguese) which gives a good overview of the possible steps:

My half sister took me to the bank and apparently they didnt have anyone that could speak english so she was the one that set up everything, she was supposed to be the second person on the loan in case I could not pay she would be the one liable, she told that she couldn't be the main person because she was waiting on getting her permanent contract at her job so she could get a loan to pay off her issues and cover the money she was borrowing from me and she could not stack multiple loans a week later she actually told me that her name wasn't on the loan and I was the only one liable for it... I was a bit amazed because the bank gave me a 5000e with me solo when I arrived at the country 4months ago, not being able to speak german, my work contract was just 3months old and I was still in probation period! Later I also found out that the person that gave me the paperwork to sign is actually the same person that takes care of my half sister account in that bank. Thanks for the tips
