As an asylum seeker in Germany, can I apply for a K1 visa to join my US citizen fiancé?

Dear @Ekume, welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us. We had a similar question on this platform before and you may want to check the information my colleague gave here: https://***.wefugees.de/808218/i-want-to-leave-with-a-k1-visa-to-the-united-state She pointed out, that: "In Germany, asylum-seekers need to stay within the country until the case is finished and they received a residence permit. " This website might also be helpful, it contains further information on requirements for a K-1 Visa: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#1

However, I'm going to link my dear colleague @Meike here again, maybe she can have a **** at your question and give you more detailed information on your case. However, please don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best, Julia

Yeah my asylum case is closed upon a rejection. So do I need to go back to my home country to be able to get the K1 visa? Or I can still get it here in Germany?
