Aufenthaltserlaubnis for 6 months and Reiseausweis for 1 year

Question

Hello Wefugees,
I went to Ausländerbehörde some days ago and my finger prints were taken together with my Foto for the issuing of residence permit in accordance with section 25 (5) of Aufenthaltsgesetz.
But what I didn't understand and I forgot to ask the clerk is this: she told me that I will receive 6 months residence permit and 1 year Reiseausweis.
If my understanding is right, I think the Reiseausweis carries the same time limit as the residence permit.
Is there any possible explanation for this?

I have a question if someone is holding paragraph 19d permit if you are sick and you company terminated your contract if the permit is Expire will you get it back

Hello Kanteh, I think you have medical notification from your doctor confirming that you are unable to work, the Ausländerbehörde will definitely renew your residence permit.
Because that won't be your fault for not taking up job.

Welcome back to the Wefugees Community and thank you for your question.

As fas as I know (and it is also written on this website by the authorities in Berlin), a travel document may not be valid for a longer period than the residence permit that was issued or will be issued. However, I am not too familiar with your personal background and why your residence permit is only valid for 6 months. As the application for the travel document also comes with fees, the immigration office may not issue it for a shorter period than 1 year. But that is only an assumption.
