I have a few questions about the possibility of converting this visa to a residence card and my employment options moving forward.

1.I am curious if it is possible to convert my Opportunity Card visa to a resident card without having a full-time employment contract.???
2.As an accountant with significant audit experience, I want to ensure that I meet the necessary requirements for this transition. Additionally, I would like to know if I can pursue employment opportunities outside of my field, such as working in retail or logistics at companies like Amazon, while still maintaining my visa status. ??

Furthermore, I am considering which cities may offer the best job prospects for accounting professionals as well as opportunities for converting my visa. I have heard mixed opinions about Berlin and Frankfurt. Which city do you think is better for job hunting in my field?

I appreciate any advice or insights you may have regarding my questions.

Hi @arkan

Yes, a full-time contract is not required. The main thing is that your salary will be enough to financially support yourself and that the job is a qualified position.

While you have the opportunity card, you can work for up to 20 hours a week in any field.

I’m afraid I do not have any insight into the respective job prospects for accountants in Berlin and Frankfurt. I imagine both cities offer many opportunities to work in that area and through English if you do not yet speak German at a professional level. But cities like Hamburg and Munich also have many large international companies that speak English. However, you may find it more difficult and costly to find accommodation in the bigger cities. To convert your resident permit, the immigration office will also **** at what rent costs you have.

While looking for a job, you can register as a jobseeker with your local Agentur für Arbeit and they will assist you with finding work.

Best,

Thank you for your valuable response; I truly appreciate it. I am reaching out to request any details or contact numbers for agents from the Agentur für Arbeit. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.
You're very welcome. It is not clear to me whether you are already in Germany or not. If you are still abroad, the part of the Agentur für Arbeit that can assist you is called the ZAV:

If you wish to contact a person from the Agentur für Arbeit in Germany, then you'll find them listed along with the languages they speak in this database for jobseekers:
