Hi am back again. Finally married. My question is, if officially married for 2 years but received Aufenthaltstitle only a year ago, can you still apply for a German passport or must wait? If wait then till when?

Dear @Babygrme,

Welcome back to the Wefugees Community and thank you for your question.

As spouse of a German citizen, you are currently able to obtain the German citizenship after residing in Germany legally (having a residence permit) for a minimum of three years. Therefore, if I understand your situation correctly, you may need to wait for another two years for the naturalisation process. Handbook Germany is providing some information on the general requirements as well.

I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best,

Meike
