Can I get the German citizenship holding a residence acc. to 25 (5) if my partner meets the requirements?

Hope you doing great and fine.My partner is eligible for Naturalization in August and she want to naturalize with me.

I meet all the requirements but the problem is I hold residence 25.5.

Can she naturalize with me if I hold residence 25.5?

I am not a lawyer, but I try to answer your questions as good as I can.

As far as I know, the naturalization is not (yet) possible for you as long as you are holding a temporary residence permit according to section 25 (5) of the German Residence Act. This presentation by the GGUA counselling centre (in German though) provides a list with the sections excluded as foundation for a German citizenship and they refer to:  §§ 16a, 16b, 16d, 16e, 16f, 17, 18d, 18f, 19, 19b, 19c, 22, 24 and 25 (3) - (5).

However, after you obtained a permanent residence permit - "Niederlassungserlaubnis" - (in your case according to section 26 (4)), you may also be eligible for the German citizenship.

Regarding your partner: In general, the German (residence) law (and other law fields) is not taking unmarried partnerships into consideration. Unfortunately, they are usually not "recognized" in a legal sense.

Thankyou for the reply.We are getting married next month and she was planning to naturalize with me after getting married.

My question was as a married partner of someone holding 25.5 can naturalize together with my wife even if I hold residence 25.5?
