Maybe you can check again his latest comments under your question. It is very difficult to assess your and your family’s situation based on the details you shared. Important to know would be, for instance, why your wife is holding a fictional certificate for such a long time, which document she held before and which residence permit she is applying for.
Did you already contact a migration counseling office for individual support? I would highly recommend it! Please let us know if you need help finding a counseling service in your area - we are happy to make some research.
