Dear @Kriskum,
Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us.
The German Bundestag confirmed tha law last friday and it will be passed by the Bundesrat on December 16th. The content of the drafted law we discussed earlier on this platform has not changed regarding the "Duldung light": People who are holding a "Duldung" according to section 60b of the German Residence Act ("for persons whose identity is not varified") are not excluded from the so-called Chancen-Aufenthaltsrecht and can apply as well.
What changed last minute is, however, that the "Chancen-Aufenthaltsrecht" residence permit will be issued for 18 instead of 12 months and that people can apply for it if they are in Germany for a minimum of 5 years counted on the date of October 31st 2022 (instead of January 1st 2022).
I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.
All the best,
Meike
