As I am unfortunately not familiar with the dentistry studies and the apprenticeships in that field ("Ausbildungen"), I was trying to make some research. Did you see this website already? I found it quite informative. As I read on this website, the requirements for the study programme are quite high (very good "Abitur") in Germany and there are usually way more applicants than available places to study. However, they also mentioned here that a prior successfully completed "Ausbildung" in that field can raise tha chances to get accepted for a study programme.
