Here you can ask, answer and find questions surrounding the topic: arriving in Germany

We are a family of three come via Frankfurt airport, all our documents were original. Our interview held by bamf in middle-November. They said that our interview minutes would be sent to us after a short while but until today no news, btw my interpreter translated my interview to me but when it came to my husband's it was late evening around 7-pm, so government official told to my husband sign papers and his interview is over. And he signed that papers without translation. She was rushing to home probably. So we still do not know if our interview translated correctly because we do not have copies.
We wrote an e-mail to bamf but still no answer,
1) What we should do? Should we contact a lawyer?
2) Is there any procedure timeline about our asylum application? When we should expect our decision? Can they send to us our interview minutes with case decision?
Thank you, I appreciate your time.

Dear @usagican

Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for sharing your situation with us.

I would like to recommend you to get in contact with a migration/asylum counselling office in your region. I am sure they can support you in contacting the BAMF and follow the procedure. Just let us know if you need help in finding a respective office close to your current location. Maybe the BAMF registered a wrong address and can not locate you for the time being. It is important that they can always reach you.

Regarding your second question: There is no specific timeline for the asylum procedure and the duration is also highly varying from institution to institution, city to city and case to case. But in this matter it makes sense as well to contact local experts in a counselling office who are most of the times more experienced and familiar with the local specialties and processes.

As I said, we would be happy to make some research/provide contact details of counselling institutions.

All the best,

Thank you for your quick reply, we have been living in Refugee camp since the beginning,  almost for 5.5 months. So, I think they know where to find us, we never transferred to another refugee camp.
Could you please share with us any contact information of counselling office in Hessen?
Best Regards.
