Hello, a have a question about my son status in Germany. He has a Permit of stay after an ausbildung visa. After two years of ausbildung his firm decided to dismiss him because of some disagreements. So now he is unemployed and looking for a job. Will he be allowed to regularly stay in germany .

Dear @Bona

Thank you for reaching out to the Wefugees community. To answer your question, we will probably need some more details.

Which residence permit does your son exactly hold? Are you referring to a so-called „Ausbildungsduldung“, which is issued for 3 years? In that case, after losing the job, your son will most likely have 6 months to get a new employer for the Ausbildung. Otherwise the document will expire.

Please feel free to get back to us.

Best,

Meike

Yes, he has a Aufenthaltserlaubnis that expires on July 31st 2020 and actually he is looking for a job and attending interviews. I had also another question, in case he will get a job what kind of aufensthaltstitel he will be entitled fo.

thank you so much
