Marriage with an Asylum Seeker

Hi my name is Patricia an Asylum Seeker in Cyprus.I have this issue i would like to share with everyone to seek your advise.My boyfriend is from Romania and we have been dating for quite some time now.He was once married to a Cypriot but divorced in Cyprus.He got a better job in the UK so he went over and he wants us to get married but the problem is that he plans us to do the wedding in the UK and live there.We wish to find out if its possible for us to do this because my Asylum procedure is still pending and i dont know if there is a means to travel?

As I understand you want to know if it’s possible for you to go to UK and get married to Your fiancé even tho your in an asylum procedure in Cyprus, Right ?

So as an asylum Seeker you can’t really travel outside Cyprus at the moment and UK would be so far for you also you would need a lot of documents just to get married in the UK. As I know your living in an asylum camp in Cyprus, Right ? As I should guess they check in your camp if your available or not , so it would be difficult to get married in the UK.

Maybe other members know any other way. Have you tried to check if you can get married in Cyprus maybe ? You would also need a lot of documents but I can’t comment much about it as I am not an expert but you should try to check it out getting married in Cyprus as an asylum seeker. I know in Germany it’s possible but unfortunately with Cyprus I am not sure.
