Dear @Sohab,
I'm glad to see you are using the platform so actively!
Yes, an appointment is needed if you are looking into the registration of your marriage and applying for family reunion. Here is the German Missions in Islamabad website: https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_realmList.do?locationCode=isla&request_locale=en
If you have a **** at the "Visas (short- and long-term)" section and scroll down, you find a button to "Continue". On the page that follows, you can choose the option "Registration to apply for a long-term visa for family reunion or marriage". You will then have to follow the next steps as explained on the website.
This is what they state at this point:
"Dear Sir or Madam,
on the following pages you can register for an appointment to apply for a long-term visa for family reunion or marriage (for stays exceeding 90 days).
After your successful registration you will receive a confirmation about the completion of the registration process and afterwards two emails:
- Within 30 minutes, you will receive a confirmation email with your reference number, and
- Sometime later, you will receive a second email (appointment email) containing further details about the date and time of your allocated appointment.
Once you have registered for an appointment, please check your email inbox for the confirmation email, which will include a reference number. You should have received your confirmation email within 30 minutes. The German Embassy in Islamabad will then allocate a binding appointment as soon as possible and send you the details via email. This email will include two links, one to confirm the appointment, and one to cancel it.
The waiting time will be approximately five (5) months until you receive your confirmation email. Please bear in mind that this is just an estimate.
Appointments will be allocated chronologically. Due to cancellations of appointments or additional appointments, it might be possible in very few cases that the allocation of an appointment is not chronological. This cannot be avoided due to technical reasons. But this measure will optimize the processing capacity of the visa section..."
I hope this information helps you two. Feel free to reach out to us again if you have any more questions.
All the best,
Isa
