How long can an appeal stay in the court?

Hello wefugees team, please I was rejected by the BAMF in the year 2016 and I made an appeal in the same year but I really don't know why up to date nothing has come up. I'm still waiting for the decision of the court since 2016 September. Please is there any advice on what to do or can someone tell why it's like that?

Please while waiting for the decision from the court, I have worked for one and half year in Germany and also have gone through forklift truck training as a forklift truck driver ( Forklift truck license) and now I have been giving three years working permit by the Ausländerbehörde which I have been able to sign working contract and wish to start on 30.7. 2018. I have no criminal record but my question is, can that sign as another chance for me to stay in Germany? And I have also stay in Germany as an asylum seeker for the pass four years now. Thanks

Nice to hear from you again.

1) German bureaucracy is not the fastest, but this is way too long. You can contact a lawyer and a file a so-called "Untätigkeitsklage" (action for failure to act) at Verwaltungsgericht. It will force BAMF to process your case.

2) Unfortunately, having a working permit or a job does not grant you a residence permit. However, if you get a Duldung at the end of your asylum procedure, all the years you spent in Germany holding an Aufenthaltsgestattung will be taken into account when it comes to granting you a residence permit. Also having a job will be an advantage for you. Check out this thread here on Wefugees for further information:
