I'm trying to get married to an Iranian refugee, but he need documentation that he would need to get from Iran. He could request this from the Iranian embassy but would this mess up his asylum he has already been issued asylum.

Nice to hear from you again!

Indeed, visiting the Iranian embassy will automatically result in the loss of your fiancé’s refugee status. The underlying law is pretty clear in this regard.
