Here you can ask, answer and find questions surrounding the topic: arriving in Germany
Hello everybody,

I am mentoring a fantastic human-being who arrived in Germany as a refugee 1.5 years ago. He has received his Aufenthaltserlaubnis and is very happy to stay.

We now urgently need to find him an apartment or a WG room in Berlin. We have been slowed down because we do not understand how this works and going via webpages like ImmoScout24 has been unsuccessful.

Can you recommend any organization in berlin that could help us to at least understand the process or even in finding a place? The EJF turned as away as did the LAF because they are no longer responsible.

Thank you!

Hello @ChrisBerlin

welcome to our community!

Here you can find a selection of useful documents (different languages - long and short versions) that explain how the process of finding an apartment for refugees works and what you have to keep in mind:

Apart from that you can check out the information provided by our community in the following threads:

Speaking from my own experience I know how tough it can be to find a place in Berlin. Still I wish you and your mentee good luck!

Best regards,
Thorgen
