Here you can ask, answer and find questions surrounding the topic: arriving in Germany
Since september 2015 I am desperately looking for a apartment of my own. I am from the Congo. I am 18 years old and am living in a Asylantenheim at this moment. The circumstances there aren't very flattering. I already have been at Haus K where they advised me, i have put up a lot of ''Anzeigen'' in the internet and sent a lot of e-mails. Till today I didn't find a place. Is there anyone who has an idea for me ? who knows organisations ? I know it is also already critical for german people to find a flat.
I hope someone can help me .

Dear Arnord.
It is indeed difficult finding a place to stay, especially in Berlin. But there are institutions that can help you find a room. Since you told me, that you are already having the Schein from Lageso that certifies that your room will be payed by the LeGeSo, you can contact the "Wohnungen für Flüchtlinge"

They are placed in Turmstr. 21, Haus K 10559 Berlin Moabit

They will help you personally to find a room and they even have a certain amount of apartments that they can give away directly to refugees.

In case you are looking for a shared flat. You can aswell contact "Flüchtlinge Willkommen" who can help you find a room, too.

Good luck

Best Henriette

The adresse you gave me is the place i described I have been in september Haus K. They don't work the way you explained. Since september I am on their waiting list and up until now they didn't give me a sign . They also told me that I would have to wait maybe more than a year. But thank you for trying to help
Im sorry for that. I didn't know that they were working that slowly. The initiative "Neue Nachbarschaft Moabit" is also offering help to find a flat in Berlin. You can reach them in Beusselstraße 26
10553 Berlin. The "Migrationsberatung im AWO Begegnungszentrum Kreuzberg" can probably also help you. Their number is:  030 69 53 56 11
I really hope that you're going to have more luck in the future. If you want to put up more "Anzeigen" aswell, the newsletter called WOLOHO could be helpful for you, too!
I am already subscribed to the WOLOHO newsletter. I will contact ''Neue Nachbarschaft Moabit'' and the '' AWO'' Thank you very much

Hi Arnold, I´m sorry for that too. Have you been back to Haus K since September? Thanks Henrietta for the alternatives :)

On just click "You are a Refugee?" and you can register and start to look for apartments. Flüchtlinge Willkommen ("Refugees Welcome") connects refugees with apartment-sharing communities.

I also found which is still under construction but you can sign up for a newsletter to find out when the app is ready for use.

And one last facebook group where you may be able to get advice as well as search for apartments:

Keep us posted with how the search is going!

I am already in the Facebook group you send me . I subscribed to the newsletter you recommended thank you very much
At Haus K they tell you to not come again to ask if a flat is available. They said it doesn't effect anything because they give out flats according to the wating list and if you already got a flat they will know because they are connected to the LaGeSo Haus A.
Ah okay good to know. I hope that AWO and Neue Nachbarschaft Moabit will be able to help you out!
Thank you very much. I am waiting for their response
