Can I find a good work without a certificate as a Fashion Designer?

In terms of getting university degrees recognized and professions recognized you can go to the IHK ticket support a lot of times. There is other projects that helps with recognition as well. If you don’t have any papers, depending on the profession, there is sometimes a test that you can do. To prove that you are competent, that you know this.

The rules for every job are different ones. As far as I know there are no rules for designer. I’m not sure, for example, if you are allowed to call yourself a Fashion Designer. That’s something I would do a research.

It really depends on what you do. As far as I know as fashion designer you don’t need a certificate, but we suggest to ask IHK [Industrie- und Handelskammer, Chamber of Commerce] f.e., they have information about it. SO before publishing sthg. On your website, always check it with IHK and double check it on your own via internet research. It’s really different for every sector. We don’t know it for every sector.

[IHK] also offers free coaching for founding your own business. So if you’re interested in founding your own business and you just have the idea you can make an appointment with them and say this is my idea, what are the legal things that I have to do. And they could advise you for free.

There are a few workshops here for free, Wefugees f.e. is going to do a workshop about how to start your own business as well in different cities in Germany. And I started my own business with a website and the web design thing. So if this is similar to fashion design from the legal part, it’s quite easy to do this. You can go to the Gewerbeamt and you just have to fill in the form and you say you’re a fashion designer and it cost about 30 Euro. It depends a little bit on the city. Then you are a fashion designer. And then you can write it on your website as well.
