Can I make driving license ?

Hello. I am living in dresden from 15 months. I have Asyl antrag here still i have vaild stay permit till April 2017. i am working as Pflegehelfer in which i recently got work approval and that vaild till 2019. if someone can help me in applying driving license. My Auslandbehorde is in Pirna.

I want to Auslandbehorde to apply for driving license but they told me to bring original document or your home country driving license which i dont have it. I try to convince them with my Aufenthaltsgestattung with bank deatils and my health card from AOK but not success. I want to know is it possible for asylum to get driving license with vaild Aufenthaltsgestattung only. I can provide you more details through email  or whatsapp.

As far as I know, having the original license from the country of origin is mandatory to get an approval. Yet, of course you can make a new driving license in a driving school here in Germany, this is open to everyone with

Thanks for that info. I want to make new driving license here in Germany. I want to Ausländerbehörde this previous tuesday to talk about this. But did not work well. You know the bureaucratic. Can you send me email stating it clear that i should told them this rather than explaining this and that.

Hi Sandy,

the highest German court recently held that you are allowed to apply for driving licence also with Aufenthaltsgestattung and no other documents. You should be able to prove in some way your age.

You can refer the Auslanderbehörde to the following link which summarizes the ruling of the court:
