Hi @Sukhpreet
The German authorities hold data on foreigners in a central databased called the Ausländerzentralregister (AZR). Data such as about a person’s asylum application is stored on the database for ten years. You can make a written application to know what data is stored on you to the Bundesverwaltungsamt, the office that runs the database. Here you can read about it via online translation:
https://***-bva-bund-de.translate.goog/DE/Das-BVA/Aufgaben/A/Auslaenderzentralregister/auskunft/auskunft_node.html?_x_tr_sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
Here they have the form in English to make this request:
https://***.bva.bund.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/Aufgaben/S/AZR/azr_selbstauskunft_ENG.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=6
The request is free of charge and they must reply within a month.
The data can only be deleted before the period of ten years under certain circumstances, such as a person acquiring German citizenship. Here you can read the relevant paragraph (via online translation) of the law on the AZR about deleting records:

Best,
Éanna
