I‘m asylum seeker who appealed against age assessment interview. Am almost 18 years old, and was told the machine will most likely not change the result. After sending my appeal, I started stressing that this will add hurdles to my asylum application. And after discussing it with my family and meeting fellow young adults in the camp. I want withdraw my appeal and just remove all this negativity from life.

Is this possible and can I do it? And how can I do it?

Dear @Freedom

Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us.

First of all I want to say that I am not a lawyer and that we can not provide legal counselling on this public platform. I can totally understand your desire to calm down the stress you must be suffering from.

However, I highly recommend you to discuss your decision to cancel the appeal with an expert who can assess your individual situation and who can support you through the process. Do you know the "Jugendmigrationsdienst", for instance? This kind of service is provided by various NGOs all over Germany for free and confidential. If you need help with finding such an office in your area please let us know and also don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best,

Meike

Thanks Meike, for the advice, I talked to “Infobus für Flüchtlinge” to help send the appeal at the beginning and was ashamed to ask them to withdraw, especially after their help. That is why I was looking for a way to do it on my own
