Will my permanent residence (Niederlassungserlaubnis/28 (2)) expire after a divorce?

Hi Good Morning dear Portal Wefugees I am living here in Germany since 2015 married to a German woman and having two children’s, almost 7 years with my wife now and legally married for 4 years and next year would be 5th year now the problem is that from last 3 years my wife is everyday making problems for me, fighting with me giving me lot of stress and I am totally stressed from her that even I am taking Pills for stress relief and going to doctors and therapist I have got my Niederlassungserlaubnis which is 28abs2 and I am worried that if I divorce my wife does it impact on my status of residence because I am Non EU please guide me an advice would be happy to hear from you soon thanks

I am sorry to hear about your struggles - did you consider to contact a couple counselling center (marriage guidance)? Let us know if you need support in finding one in your area.

Regarding the permanent residence permit (Niederlassungserlaubnis): This is not dependent on your marriage/your spouse. It will not expire after a divorce (usually only, if you leave Germany for more than 6 months).
