Dear @WilkommenausKanada,
thank you for sharing your question with the Wefugees Community.
When you apply for Asylum in Germany, you are usually also provided with an accommodation; first, either in an arrival center (Ankunftszentrum) or an initial reception center (Erstaufnahmeeinrichtung); later you may be send to another camp, where you will stay for a long term (Gemeinschaftsunterkunft), depending on your case and your country of origin. This will continue until you either get a type of protection in Germany or you get the permission to stay outside one of these camps and start to work and be able to rent an apartment outside the camp for yourself or until you get a rejection for your asylum and you are being deported from Germany.
I hope, I could have answered your question. I am a MBEON consultant. If you wish to contact me directly, you can have a **** at my profile and follow the instructions there.
Best wishes
