Recently, I have moved from Essen to Düsseldorf. I am awaiting a decision from ausländerbehörde regarding family reunion. The application of my spouse is with them already, but they are waiting for my ausländerakte to take the decision/ work on it. I would like to know how long does it take roughly as it seems an automatic process.

Do I have to take any actions in regards to it ? Thank you for your time and help

Hi @hope123,

I do not know the specific procedure in NRW but I presume you have registered (done the Anmeldung) in Düsseldorf and the Ausländerbehörde are aware of your move? Otherwise there's no other action needed. Howeer, if it is taking too long you should inquire about it. From their website it doesn't seem possible to contact the Ausländerbehörde in Düsseldorf by telephone, they only give an email option- Have you sent them an email asking about your file? I hope it's resolved quickly.

Best,

Éanna
