Hi @Arslanahmed, welcome to Wefugees and thanks for reaching out to us. Do I understand you correctly that your visa has already expired or is it about to expire? I will link our dear experts @mbeon-Christine, @mbeon-Ruth and @mbeon-Gabriele here. Maybe they can have a **** at your question and get back to you shortly. All the best, Julia

Hi @Arslanahmed,

Information about visas is shared between Schengen states under the Visa Information System:

https://home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/policies/schengen-borders-and-visa/visa-information-system_en

This system is used to determine which state is responsible for processing an asylum application. If Poland issued you with a visa, then they would be responsible for processing a potential asylum application you may make.

The relevant legal basis for deciding responsibility for an asylum application when visas are involved is Article 12 of the Dublin Regulation. You can find the full text here:

https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:32013R0604&from=EN#d1e883-31-1

Best,

Éanna
