Hi @Anas1212,

If you are doing a Studienkolleg I presume you are here with a residence permit according to paragraph 16 of the Aufenthaltsgesetz? The paragraph number will be written on your permit/visa. With this permit you can change to a residence permit for an Ausbildung.

There are different types of Fachinformatiker Ausbildung. For example, one with a focus on programming, another about integrating IT systems etc. As far as I know, there are no specific legal requirements for a person applying to do one of these Ausbildung. If you are doing a Studienkolleg, I presume you have a school certificate from your home country that has been translated into German and recognised as sufficient for you to study here? This certificate should be included in any Ausbildung application you make.

Although there are no specific legal requirements, most companies looking for someone to do this Ausbildung will ask for someone with the most advanced German school leaving certificate (Hochschulreife). They will also **** for people who are technically skilled, proficient in maths, and who speak English. For non-German native speakers, it is one of the more challenging Ausbildung due to its technical nature so most like at least level German B2 would be expected.

If you do not have all these competences, you may of course be able to learn them on the job (which in essence what an Ausbildung is – theory and practice) and perhaps you have other skills that would be valuable to an IT company (e.g. foreign language). It is, however, a more challenging Ausbildung with many interested applicants.

Another tip is to try to do an internship (Praktikum) in Germany with an IT company. They can then give you a reference (Zeugnis) which helps to show you are genuinely interested in the field and have had first experience with it.

In very many regions of Germany, there are specific projects which help non-Germans who are looking for an Ausbildung. Have you had any help with your search so far? If you let me know the area you’re in, we can see who might be able to help you there. These projects can for example, help finding available Ausbildung, writing applications, looking for internships, contacting employers who may have questions about residency and work permission. I recommend you try to get someone to help you with your search.

They can also assist you **** at other Ausbildung, there are hundreds of different types so perhaps you could try to find something similar that might interest you?

There are also many resources online:

Here detailed information about the Ausbildung from the Agentur für Arbeit:

The national organisation for supervising Fachinformatiker Ausbildung is the IHK:

thank you so much this helped me a lot. i never really got any help i have been searching and sending applications  alone . i live now in leipzig and i am ready to move anywhere for a good ausbildung
i asked in reddit and they told me that it s hard to find an IT ausbildung as a not eu-citizen and they also told me it s better to the a nursing ausbildung , but i am really not interested in nursing  . i still havent got accepted anywhere . i would be so happy with any kind of help
Hi dear, I'm in Bielefeld could you please give me any link to such projects which could aid non Germans regarding finding and advices for Ausbildung.
Hi again,

For Leipzig I recommend you first contact these labour market mentors who work for the organisation Arbeit und Leben. Here is their information in English:

https://***.arbeitundleben.eu/projekte/detail/labor-market-mentors-leipzig-582/

Their help is for free. They can take you through the entire process of finding an Ausbildung and can continue to support you if you do find one. They can also **** at alternatives with you but I recommend you **** for an Ausbildung in an area that interests you. An online comment about the difficulty or otherwise of finding an IT-Ausbildung as a non-EU citizen is in my view not sufficient reason to change to a supposedly easier field. In particular, the IT sector can be more flexible than others around the requirements to start an Ausbildung (e.g. level and type of school certificate) and tend to value English (and other foreign languages). So give it a go!

This site is a good place to **** for an internship in the IT sector in Leipzig:

https://***.spinlab.co/jobs-in-leipzig

You can use the larger search engines to search for an Ausbildung (Jobbörse, indeed, Azubiyo), also the search engine of the chamber of commerce for this sector:

https://***.ihk-lehrstellenboerse.de/angebote/suche?query=It-Branche&qualification=-1&location=Leipzig&distance=1&thisYear=true&_thisYear=on&nextYear=true&_nextYear=on&afterNextYear=true&_afterNextYear=on&organisationName=Unternehmen+eingeben&submit=Suchen

You can also search directly with big employers in Leipzig, e.g. here is one with the LVB transport company:

https://***.l.de/karriere/ausbildung/verkehrsbetriebe/it-systemelektroniker-bei-den-lvb-m-w-d/

If there’s a company you’re interested in working for but they aren’t advertising any places, you can ask if they have any places, ideally offering to first do an internship. This is called Initiativbewerbung.

Here is a document in English from the city of Leipzig with detailed information about professional orientation, where to get help, and the dates of big trade fairs:

https://static.leipzig.de/fileadmin/mediendatenbank/leipzig-de/Stadt/02.8_Dez8_Wirtschaft_Arbeit_Digitales/81_Referat_Beschaeftigungspolitik/Berufs-_und_Studienorientierung/Arbeitsmaterialien/Elternwegweiser_BO_englisch.PDF

Hope that helps, to repeat I recommend you contact the labor market mentors first of all. Best of luck!
Hi Azimi,

Unfortunately I’m not as familiar with Bielefeld as Leipzig but I have found the following information:

If you are a refugee or asylum seeker, you can help from this ALPHA project. It is run by the organisation REGE and here is a flyer with their contact information:

https://rege-mbh.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/flyer_alpha-owl-2-2020-screen-2.pdf

They can help for free with finding an Ausbildung and explaining the different types. I imagine someone there can communicate with you in English. However, to find an Ausbildung you generally need to speak a certain level of German. This can vary depending on the profession.

Depending on your residency status, you may also be able to get support from the state employment agencies Bundesagentur für Arbeit or the Jobcenter in finding an Ausbildung.

Otherwise, much of the information I wrote above may also be relevant and of interest to you.
Best of luck and feel free to contact us with any further questions!

Best,

Éanna

Hey Anas,

I hope you are well :) I wanted to give you a tip for your job search.
Do you already know Workeer.de? It's a job exchange for refugees looking for work and interested employers.
Maybe they can help you with your search?
With kind regards
