Dear @Katelucas

Welcome back to the Wefugees Community and thank you for your question.

It is a bit difficult to give you a tailored advice based on the here provided information. In general, it is a normal procedure that the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) is asking foreigners to prove their identity and to submit their passports. For many types of residence permits the prior identity clarification is a requirement. Whether you are in danger to get deported or not is highly independent on your personal situation. What type of residence permit does your family hold and are you married? Are you officially registered as father of the children holding a residence permit? In any case, I would highly recommend you to contact a counselling centre as well in order to discuss your perspectives and next steps individually. Please let us know if you need support in finding a respective office or if you want to discuss your case here as well.

All the best,

Meike
