Here you can ask, answer and find questions surrounding the topic: arriving in Germany
I want to know how to apply for permanent work permit after living in Germany for 4 years.
I heard that if someone lived in Germany for 4 or more years you have full right to the German labour market like the German citizens or  residents with permanent residence permit.
But to know process of getting this work permit.
My problem is that I have to always renew my work permit after the mentioned date on my Aufenthaltsgestattung expires.

Hello @MB,

thanks for reaching out to the Wefugees community and for sharing your question.

After 49 months in Germany you will receive a general work permit which doesn't involve the employment agency any longer. This gives you more options when you're looking for a better job, e.g. But you still need the approval of the immigration authority, that is your work permit is linked to the period of validitiy of your temporary resident permit.

I hope my answers were useful for you and I'll be very pleased if you contact me again with further questions. I live in Germany since 12.05.2016.. also I've been working full time since 2017. Last week when I went to renew my Ausweis they told me I'm eligible for unrestricted work permit and they did on that day. .

So I believe you can ask them about it and grey it done

. Good luck
