The Skilled Immigration Act, is a new law which expands the possibilities for qualified professionals to come to work in Germany. In future, qualified professionals will be people with a university degree or qualified vocational training with a training period of at least two years. The prerequisite for both groups is that their foreign qualifications have been recognized by the competent body in Germany.
For qualified specialists there is the opportunity to come to Germany with a specific job offer or to stay as a qualified specialist for 6 months to look for work in Germany. The prerequisite for this is that you have a university degree and can make a living yourself for the time. You are not allowed to work during your stay (looking for work). You can apply for this visa at your German diplomatic mission. If you are in Sri Lanka, the responsible office is in Colombo.
On the Federal Government's portal „Make it in Germany“ you will find lots of useful information and important details, also in English: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/
