Can an asylum seeker apply for F2 visa(US)?

I am currently living in France and applied for asylum. My wife is ling in USA and I would like to apply for F2 visa after getting back to India. I am afraid that my F2 visa will be rejected because of my asylum application in Europe. Can you please help me to solve this matter. Thank you.
