Hi, i would like to ask a Question, i have gotten my country's Passport today from the Nigerian Embassy in Berlin. But i also have a Refugee 1951 Convention travel Document. Which i got because i hold a Refugee status in Italy. But i will be applying for a German National Visa soon, incase the Ausländer Behörde refused to allow  me apply for the German aufenstaltstitel on Tuesday 4th of September because of my recent marriage in Denmark with a German Woman. My questions is which of these Travel Documents would be the Best for the Application of the National Visa. Is it the National Passport or the Refugee 1951 Convention travel Document?

Hi Nelly, Thank you for the question. In my experience it would be best to apply with the both Dokuments-as they will check your entire background. I Einöde suggest you go for an initial consultation to the Ausländerbehörde. I hope that helps.

I don't think it's possible to apply with Both Documents because they usually ask of only one Travel Document thats the Passport or the Refugee document. I just want to know which of them i should use to apply for it.
You also mentioned in your own experience i don't understand where you in such a situation in the past?
Hi Nelly,

I have been working in this field the last 3 years. What I mean is you apply with your refugee document but mentioned that you have a National passport as they will need that to give you the National Visa.

I already applied Yesterday for the Residence Permits at the Ausländer Behörde, without going back to Italy but i don't know if they will grant it. But the Ausländeramt said they will have to check my application and see if i can get it. My question is do i still stand a chance of getting the Residence Permits at the Ausländer Behörde without going back to Italy to apply for German family reunion visa ?
And secondly i didn't use the Refugee Passport. i used my National passport along with my Italian Asylum Residence Permits will that be a problem? And also did you know how long it will take the Ausländeramt to inform me if they will issue my Residence Permits or not?
Hi Nelly,

thx for giving more in depth information.
As to your questions:
1. My question is do i still stand a chance of getting the Residence Permits at the Ausländer Behörde without going back to Italy to apply for German family reunion visa ?
2. And secondly i didn't use the Refugee Passport. i used my National passport along with my Italian Asylum Residence Permits will that be a problem?
3. And also did you know how long it will take the Ausländeramt to inform me if they will issue my Residence Permits or not?

Answers:
1. This is question, they will check on the individual case base- in your case its very a high possibility that you dont have to go to back for Visa.
2. I dont think that will be a problem- as they can check it in the EUro DATA System that you had that status in Italy. Did you mention it though in your application- that you hold the Refugee Document?
3. Time is a question that is very difficult to estimate with the Ausländerbehörde- but I would suggest that you check on your case like every 3-4 weeks if things dont move.

Best regards,
Nilab
Hi @Nilab i didn't mention that I have a Refugee Passport . Will that be a problem? Secondly I applied for my National Passport here in Germany. I didn't have a Valid National Passport in the past. I applied for it because the Lady that works at the Burgeramt refused to state my Nationality as a Nigeria when I went to register myself at the Burgeramt. She only wrote stateless there. She said in other for her to write My Nationality that I have to provide my National Passport so that's why I Went to my countrys Embassy to get it. Since I didn't state that I have a Refugee Passport will that cause a problem or can they find it out themselves?
