According to the authorities refugees undergo a basic medical examination, including an X-ray, to check for transmissible diseases. A doctor is present for this purpose. The examinations check for the presence of transmissible diseases and exclude any possibility of tuberculosis in the respiratory system and infectious sexually transmitted diseases. Vaccinations are also offered e.g. against diphtheria, tetanus and Hepatitis B. Asylum seekers from specific countries are vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella.
