Dear @Debbie,
Welcome back at Wefugees and thank you for your question. You are actually referring to the "job search opportunity card", right? For this one the applicant must have sufficient financial resources to fund the job search in Germany. During the visa process, the applicant can demonstrate this ability with a blocked bank account (the so-called "Sperrkonto" containing a minimum of €1,091 net per month, amount applicable in 2025) or a declaration of commtitment. With the latter the applicant is being invited by a person in Germany submitting a Declaration of Commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung) to a Foreigners Authority (Ausländerbehörde). This declaration obliges the inviter to guarantee the financial support of the visa applicant during their stay in Germany. However, you must have a fairly high income if you want to make such a declaration of commitment. I would advise extreme caution here, as it is possible that people can get into quite a lot of debt if unforeseen costs arise.
At "Make it in Germany" you will find all the requirements for the job search opportunity card and interested people can also take a test there to see whether they fulfil the requirements.
I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.
All the best,
Meike
