I have been living and working in Germany for nine years. I have a long term residency under the Brexit withdrawal agreement but not Permanent residency for some reason.

I have passed my B1 exam and will have my Living in Germany pass certificate in February.

However, in April I will be unemployed and receiving Arbeitlosgeld.

If I submit my application while employed in March will that be sufficient or will they request further proof of employment during the evaluation process when I may not have a job? If so, should I apply for citizenship or not?

I am concerned without it my young family and I (all British citizens) could be deported because I have lost my job and do not have permanent residence status.

All help welcome.

Thank you.

you still have your resident permit but the question is up until it is valid.? applying citizenship you should secure yourself and your family and that you are not dependent on Social help that you have permanent job and atleast cover your entire family. It is also possible that they will ask for further papers like work contract and Gehalt for the last 3 months. What i understand is if you are receiving ALG it will not affect still your application but still theres a chance that ur Application will be denied.
