Hello,

I am an international student from a war zone country, and been in Germany since 2022. During these times I have been doing my master and learning German, reaching B2 level. Since i have only one year of legal residence remained in Germany left and my 18 months of job seeking, I am finding ways to renew my residence in a sustainable manner like changing to a work permit now in advance.

I am looking for possible organizations that can help us gain jobs in Germany. I mean not mini or part time jobs, but jobs that are related to our field. I study a non-technical field at a university which is research based. I could not get a job at the beginning because I could not speak any German. However, even now that my german is good, all my applications get rejected. My remaining option would to claim asylum. Although I know it might be succuscully possible, but I do not like it because so much time and stress. I will be glad if any one could help me.

Regards,

A

Dear @abc123,

Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us.

If I understand correctly, you are currently holding a residence permit according to section 20 of the German Residence Act for "skilled workers seeking job employment" right? This one is usually issued for up to 18 months i.e. after graduating from a German university.

"Make it in Germany" is providing a good overview on the prospects after graduation. They also have a job pool on their "looking for a job page" - you may want to check it out.

Regarding individual counselling, I can recommend to get in touch with a Migration Counselling office (MBE) first. They have a good overview on the local support structures as well and can refer you accordingly.

I hope this helps and I cross my fingers for your job search!

All the best,

Meike
