Hello thanks for all you do . In 2021 I traveled to France for a short stayed visa which I seek for an asylum due to the problem I have back in my home country but unfortunately I was refused . Luckily after few months the problem was solved which I bought a ticket and came back home . Now I want to travel back to the same country (France) . My question is will they approve my visa , will they categorize my asylum as an overstayed? Thanks

Dear @Cdq1990

Welcome to the Wefugees Community and thank you for reaching out to us.

Our platform and our experts are based in Germany - therefore, we can usually not share much experience regarding authorities and procedures in other countries. In addition, every visa application is subject to a decision on a case-by-case basis. It is hardly possible to predict the outcome. In general, the embassy wants to be convinced that you are actually returning to your country of origin (if applying for a short-term visa) and the more reasons you can give (and submit evidence) the higher the chance for approval. I assume that your rejected asylum application is not very helpful in this. But again, it really depends on your individual situation/background.

I am sorry that I can not provide more information here - maybe other community members can share their experiences on this matter.

All the best,

Meike
