Change from bachelor degree to pilot training?

Question

I came to Germany with a student visa under section 16b to study business administration bachelor degree. Originally i have a commercial pilot license and I found a flight school here that offers a flight instructor program and i want to enroll in it and stop studying the bachelor degree. Can i do that?

You currently have a permit under section 16b. You can change to a permit under section 16a to do a course to obtain a professional qualification. Such a course is either in the form of an Ausbildung or Weiterbildung.

Training to be a pilot is what is called a school-based Ausbildung (schulische Ausbildung). If the course that you wish to do will lead to a professional qualification that is recognised in Germany, then you can change your permit to 16a.

Can you please specify how this could be done.

FYI my current D visa is valid until 31 march 2025 and i have contacted the auslander office at my area to make the change but they advised me that i can only do any change when my current visa expires.
