How to find landlord information because the main tenant do not give coorporation

Hello and good morning,

My husband and I were moving into our first apartment and i am in the process of applying visa from my country. Landesamt has asked us to provide the confirmation from the landlord, in the house contract, it is only between my husband (second tenant ) and the first tenant. We do not see any signature of the landlord in that contract.

We have asked the first tenant to get the confirmation of landlord so that we coould send it to landesamt. But it is already 2 months, and the first tenant seems to hide something and gives so many excuses everytime we ask. May we know how could we get the info of the landlord so we could reach him/her by ourselves. We are really sad with this situation and hope to be able to find the solution and hope to be able to return to.my husband soon.

I am sorry to hear about your difficulties. Without to know the first tenant's background and the way the contract between him/her and your husband was closed, I have the feeling that contacting the landlord directly could make things even more complicated for the time being (even though it would be your right). Is it possible that the landlord is not even aware of the sublease agreement between the first tenant and you? I am not an expert in tenancy law at all and I highly recommend you to get some individual support here. I assume a migration counselling office would be a good first contact point for your husband - especially since it is all about family (re-)unification as well. They may also refer him to another counselling servive for tenants if the issue can not be solved.
