Information on German mission or Commissioner of Oaths

Hallo. Kindly help where do l start. l want to submit a letter of consent for my child who is a minor. l want to send someone to apply a visa  on my behalf. Any  recommendations in Niedersachsen or online where to go and have the letter notarised?

The embassy  said this. "Applications for a minor must be filed by all parents/guardians. The minor and all parents and guardians need to be present for the application. Should one or both parent(s) and/ or guardian(s) be unavailable/ overseas at the time of application we will require a “declaration of consent”, notarised by a commissioner of oath or any EU member state or any German mission overseas."

What you need is an official notarisation, in German called ‘amtliche Beglaubigung’. You can do this either at a notary or your local citizens’ office ‘Bürgeramt’. Doing it at a notary generally costs more.

To have it done at your local Bürgeramt, you have to show them that the notarisation is required by another German authority, in this case the confirmation from the embassy.

You bring the confirmation from the embassy, your ID and the letter of consent. You sign the letter of consent in the presence of an official and they stamp it to certify that it was you who provided the signature.

The embassy requires the original of the notarised letter of consent.
