I’m a child refugee who got residence in Italy through family reunification, however I ran away and went to Germany because of family problems, at the BAMF when I did the fingerprint it did not detect anything, even though I told them I had Italian fingerprints, now I have to prove my age with a national identity card which must be sent from my country of origin Iraq. Why were my fingerprints not detected

Dear @scxen,

Unfortunately I cannot tell you why the fingerprints that were taken in Italy were not detected in Germany. All asylum seekers in the EU over the age of 14 have their fingerprints taken. This information is then put into the European EURODAC database, which is used as part of the Dublin Regulation to decide which country in the EU is responsible for processing a person's asylum application.

Best,
