About Pension contributions

Question

Hello wefugees team here, please I wish to know if Jobcenter contribute to one's pension scheme when he or she receives money from the Jobcenter as they contribute to one health insurance.  I will be grateful to receive an answer here. Thanks

thank you for sharing your question with the Wefugees Community. 

Unfortunately, since 2011 the Jobcenter or the employment agency does not contribute to one's pension if he/she is in Jobcenter and gets SGB ll. This period of time, in which you are in SGB ll, is counted as Anrechnungszeiten (counting times/crediting times) and you usually receive a letter from employment agency about your Anrechnungszeiten. In fact, the number of paying points for these times is calculated in the overall performance evaluation as the average value of all paying points earned in relation to the total period of occupancy.
