How long does it take for Berlin Ausländerbehörde to process for family reunion visa when they receive it?
I live and work in berlin, I have long term residency according to resident act 38a. My wife applied for visa last December, I received a letter from immigration office to provide my payslip and house rental contract which I send it more than a month ago but still have heard anything from immigration office and when I emailed they they only told me my wife's visa application still in evaluation.

Dear s.maroufian,

Welcome to the Wefugees community and thank you for reaching out to us.

I am afraid that it will be impossible to give you an exact answer on your question. Family reunification procedure always took quite an amount of time anyway and the worldwide Corona situation did not help in this either as most of the embassies and visa departments stopped their services for a while.

Additionally, the immigration offices, as the Landesamt für Einwandererung in Berlin for instance, closed for visitors for weeks and reduced their services to the emergencies and urgent cases.

All I can say is that if you handed in the required documents a month ago this is still a normal waiting period.

Maybe we are lucky and other community members can share up-to-date experiences.

In any case, please don’t hesitate to get back to us with any further questions.

All the best,
