Niederlassungserlaubnis für Familienangehörige von Deutschen

Question

Hi Everyone,

I married to a German since 6 years and living in German since 2 years and 8 months. My 3 year Aufenthaltserlaubnis is valid till Dec 2020. Recently i lost my job. I want to apply for Niederlassungserlaubnis. I have already done B1 exam.

1) Can i apply direct for Niederlassungserlaubnis instead of renewing my Aufenthaltserlaubnis?

1) Is it possible to get Niederlassungserlaubnis without job? My wife is currently working full time and can support both of us.

2) Will Niederlassungserlaubnis also dependent on the marriage. In case of divorce what will happen?

Your kind advises on the subject matter will be highly appreciated.

Welcome to the Wefugees community and thank you for sharing your question.

Please have a **** at this thread in which we discussed a very similar situation. As far as I understand, as long as your family in general has enough money for not being dependent on social money, that requirement should be fulfilled. Am I right on this dear @mbeon-Christine or @mbe-on_Zsigó? 

And to your second question: When you have a permanent residence permit, your status is not dependent on your spouse anymore.

Dear Melke,
Thanks a lot for your reply. Is ALG1 social money?? If i am getting Arbeitslosengeld 1, will it be a negative impact on my Niederlassungserlaubnis application? I hope that processing time should not be too much long.
