About German passport and ID card

Hello everyone on wefuges,

I need little help my son born in may 2019 and soon he will be 3 months old and we parent want to travel and still we don't have for our child no ID card or passport so we can't travel but in few weeks we must travel so I want to know how to make passport or ID card for our son I live in lubeck Germany and we have our son birth certificate and our son is German too he is born and get German nationality by birth so we want to know how to make his German passport and ID card and what the process for it and what office we must go to make all this and once again we live in lubeck Germany it's be nice to have my answer ... Thank you for sharing your question with the Wefugee Community!

If your child is German, you can apply for a children travel document ("Kinderreisepass") in the Bürgerservice Office in Lübeck. Their website is listing the required documents, i.e. the birth certificate, a written declaration of consent, a biometric picture of the child, and the ID of the parents.
