Good morning everyone. Please I have a quick question to ask for a friend regarding a German passport application. He is married to a German lady and they both have kids and he has his permit since over 3yrs now. And since over 1year and some months his wife separated from him and she rented another apartment. But, they are not divorced yet. So, he went to apply for German passport last week and the lady in the office took his permit and checked if he is the right time to apply and after checking the lady said he have to wait for five years because the wife is having another address. But, he can apply right now for permanent residence permit. So, my question is that how true is this that someone is still married just bcos they have a different address he can't apply for a German citizenship.? Please
