Where to seek help if my children's father is not taking care of them?

My husband is so irresponsible when it's comes to his own kids. He doesn't want to take part in anything concerning their daily living although the kids are the reason he is securing his residence permit. He has left them with me and not even a phone call to find out how they are fairing. The worse is we have both 50/50 sorgerecht.  Please aside from judgement, where else can I report him?? Thank you

Dear @Lydia, 

The local "Jugendamt" (youth welfare office) is the right institution to involve here. You can contact the Jugendamt for individual counselling. As a measure of last resort and if it is the best for the children, they may also support you with applying for the sole custody at the family court.
